How do you treat an ant infestation?
There are a number of different ways to treat an ant infestation, and whilst there are generic ant killing products available, it’s never a ‘one size fits all’ approach, off the shelf products are always a compromise as lower concentrations and different active ingredients mean they aren’t up to the job and can often disperse insects who avoid these treatments.
The first step to treating an ant infestation is understanding the species of ant that you’re dealing with. Black ants are the most commonly found in the UK, but there are several other species, including red ants and carpenter ants. Whilst you might be able to get an idea of the species of ant in your property, it’s always best to get a professional to confirm this so the right treatment is put in place.
Once you’ve identified the species of ant, you’ll then be able to diagnose where their nest is most likely to be located, as well as the food/elements that are attracting them to your house.

Invicta will contact you to understand what issues you are having and how we can help. We will listen and understand the issues you are having and then talk you through the best course of action. A site survey may be required to better understand what the best course of action is required.
Once you’re happy with our treatment plan, we will agree on a suitable time to attend with you and carry out the appropriate treatment for the pest you are having issues with.
